1 Slabber was the first to describe an Autolytus.
2 Horst (1898): Autolytus prolifer O. F. Mull.
3 Godfried van Moorsel: Maitlands indentification Autolytus prolifera seems close to the truth (new name: Myrianida prolifera (O.F. Müller, 1788)). This species is the only with a Sacconereis stage (fem.) in this area, in which the first 3 segments may be unmodified. Not matching (according to Hartmann-Schröder 1996): the (ventral) pair of anterior cirri is absent and 1-6 posterior segments are not unmodified.
Nygren (2004) concludes Myrianida sp..
