Leendert Bomme's scientific papers and manuscripts on marine species
Leendert Bomme published on various subjects in papers of the scientific society of Zeeland.
Also he left some unpublished manuscripts with illustrations.
This site presents his illustrations together with the identification of species presented as well as typed out versions of his unpublished manuscripts.

Identification of species
The works of Bomme and the species he described were discussed by the malacologist Tera van Benthem Jutting (1969).
On this site the names Bomme and van Benthem Jutting gave are presented.
If appropriate a more recent name then van Benthem Jutting's is mentioned and some corrections to her identification are discussed.
Literature was studied for recent identifications. Where no recent data were found Godfried van Moorsel and I checked ourselves and asked specialists to help identify Basters species. Specialists who helped identifying species are named at the appropriate places.
Current names for marine species were checked at
MarBEF ERMS taxonsearch. If this source gave no results the Dutch site Soortenbank.nl was used.
